“Server Name” is not accessible

by clasky . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I have a single NT4 Domain with (7) subnets.
Recently a Win 2000 server was installed as a member server in the domain. The Windows 2000 server gets it’s IP address and DNS, WINS info from a DHCP server in it’s subnet. The Windows 2000 machine is operating fine. The problem is that I receive the following message when I attempt to view the 2000 machine from another subnet: “”server name” is not accessible. The network path was not found.” I AM able to ping the 2000 box from any subnet. I can also map drives utilizing it’s IP address. It sounds like a possible WINS issue but everything looks good there.
