Server Question: To Dell or not to Dell?

What has been your experience with Dell as a server? I am familiar with Dell PCs, not servers. Dell uses OEM’s for the PCs. Who makes the Dell servers? How do Dell servers rate in comparison to other server brands such as HP (Compaq, now HP), and IBM? Could you recommend any websites for further research?
