server Unknown

I have DNS services running on Windows 2000 server and all of a sudden it does not know the
host name of the name server. When I do a nslookup
“hostname” I get the IP address for the hostname but I also receive a time out error message for the DNS Server. The server name is Unknown.
Can someone tell me how to fix this?
