Service status info on DCs

Is it possible to retrieve the list and status of a Domain Controller (of an AD domain) via an LDAP query rather than using the WinNT:\\ one
I already know how to do that with WinNT (there is a VB eample on ADSI programmer guide). Can I access tehcomputer class via LDAP and filtering by service?
