SETTING UP ADVANCED SERVER

by meltvn . Updated 25 years ago

Hi

I am new to Windows Y2K and am setting up a test lab to test advanced server. I installed it as a stand-alone server and promoted it to a domain controller by running DCPROMO. I used all the default settings as far as I know and every thing seemed OK with the installation. But now when I am logging in and trying to ad users to the DC with the Active directory Users and Computers I receive the following message.
? Naming information cannot be located because
Server is not operational
Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online. ?

The server seems to be running as an DC and DNS is running I am loged in as administrator so am am a bit confused as to where I am going wrong.

Can someone please give me some guidelines or direct me to a site where I can obtain some instructions an Installing and configuring a DC 2000 advanced server

Thanks
Melt
