setting up w2k as a workgroup

I have set a workgroup with three computers, all have w2k pro. I cant browse the network, When I went to my network places and computers near me i cant see any of the computer, sometimes I get an error message like the device is using by another program, any help on how to set a workgroup in w2k pro?
