setup different logons

I have a user with a laptop with Wndows 2000 Pro installed on it. He is on the network here and also wants to set it up for his home network. Problem is that even creating a new user with network setup connections for home, it seems to delete the network setup for work. It doesn’t give you the option at logon of logging to a workgroup or a network like NT. What am I missing?
