Sims 2 problem

Hi,

I’m not sure whether this is the right place for this question, however, —-

I recently supplied a new computer to a client (Athlon A64 3200, radeon 9200 video, 512 MB RAM). Client’s offspring want to use it to play SIMS 2.

Problem: after 5 to 10 minutes crashes and reboots. Other games OK, as are all other programs, just the Sims crash.

Have looked up on internet and this seems to be a major problem. Some suggestions were to ensure that DirectX 9c loaded (yes), install latest drivers for video card (done). Unfortunately Sims still crashes.

Any ideas, please?
