Slaved not recognized

I have a user that replaced their motherboard and now is having a problem with the slave drive. BIOS will recognize it and Windows XP will as well, however it will not display a drive letter in Windows Explorere or let you store data on it. The processor (AMD 1.9) is not recognized in BIOS as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
