Slow access to share drive after updating Window 200 Pro

I just completed updating a users 2000 Pro laptop with 51 updates (sheesh!). He is now having very slow access to a share drive, often taking three minutes to access what it normally took less than 5 seconds befor the updates.

Any thoughts?
