Slow DOS Applications

Like many small companies, we still use some DOS based appplications. We recently bought some faster computers running Windows 98 SE. The DOS apps run slower than they did on the slower computers in Win 95. Win 2000 runs the same app at super speed,but we can’t due to compatability use Win 2000 on all computers. Any ideas???????
