Slow Log in

When I login into the domain from Windows XP to Windows 2000 advance server (running active directory) it takes up to 7 mins or longer. But when I login that same domain from a windows 2000 pc 10 sec or less. I have tried the xp pc on a windows NT server no delay.
Does anyone have any ideas
