I have two remote users who are consistently connecting at only 14kbps to a RAS server. Both are laptop users. One laptop runs NT 4 workstation and the other runs Windows 95 (Rev A). Both laptop modems are 56k and the users can connect to their own ISPs at close to 56k (44,000 bps is about the minimum).
The RAS server is running NT 4 server, service pack 6A. Connected to it is an 8 port stallion board. There are 8 external 56k modems attached to it. The server has routing and remote access service set up and doesn’t give any errors or messages in the event log. In Control Panel / Modems I have checked the modem setups and they appear correct and have ticked the logging box in this same location.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.being the Christmas break the users are out of contact for a little while, so it’d be a great relief to have some solutions for them before they next fly out.
