Slow startup – Is Printing the Problem

I am currently having this problem with out Win2K Pro laptops, when you start them up they are really slow especially if they are not on the network having used sniffer it appears that comunications with the N/W Printer is heavy when starting up.
Ihave considered creating local printers on each laptop and pinting them to the Jetdirect Printers but isthere a better way ?? ( we use hardware profiles to seperate In/OUT of office settings)

Anyone have any Ideas/suggestions Please
