Slow… very slow WIN XP….

Hi.. I have a machine running on WinXP OS..20GB HD, 128MB of RAM, 1.6GHz speed and it has become frustratingly slow… I checked the task manager to see that the “page file Usage (PF Usage)” is almost always at 256MB.. I do not know what this means if it is the culprit for my problems… I stil have enough space in my HD about 10GB left.. I will appreciate some assistance as I am really getting desperate.. Thanks for all you suport.
