Slow WindowsXP Pro in a WindowsME Group

I have Win XP Pro installed on a system in my home workgroup. The XP PRO system takes 30 sec. to access shared printers on a ME system. It looks like there are many network brodcasts on my Linksys Switch durind the 30 sec. I have a XP Home system onthe same network and it works without delay. Both system have NTFS formating. I am seeing this same problem on a network with a Win2K domain controller, the newly installed XP Pro system takes a long time to get to nework shares on Win98 systems, but can access shares on the two Win2k systems quickly. Don’t know where else to look. Thanks
