Dear Sir or Madam
It is highly appreciated if you can help me in solving my problem.
I am working on a computer running windows XP. I have installed windows XP on this computer recently (about 2 weeks).
Before I installed windows XP on thiscomputer, I was using windows 98 and also in my office there is 3 other computers running windows 98.
Before new installation (windows XP on my computer) my computer and 3 other computers had a Microsoft Network with coaxial cable (Bus Topology).
My problem is this: after windows XP installation, my network adapter doesn?t detect the Network and other computers. My network adapter is ?Winbond W89c940-Based Ethernet Adapter (Generic)?
I checked and it is in HCL for windows XP.
I tired all my best and I have used Network troubleshooter several times but my problem still is there.
At the moment my computer is one of 4 computers which are connected to each other thru coaxial cable (about 20 meter length total). All other 3 computer see each other and use shared printer, but I can?t see ?.one of them.
When I point mouse over Network icon in the system tray this message appears:
?Local Area connection A Networks cable is unplug? while the coaxial cable is connected to network adapter (T- Connector) and the green LED normally blinks.
Thank you in advance for your guidance and help.
Best Regards
M. Aleahmad
