Smart Label Print problem from Access/20

Does anyone know have any ideas of why the following error is occuring when users try to print labels from an Access/2002 database?

See below error message:
I cannot print labels. I receive the following message: (error with serial port)

There was an error found when printing the document “Label to Payroll Clerk” to SLPCOM1:.

(with USB port) — error same except SLPUSB
