SMC router is shot (changing sides to Cisco)

Good Day Tech Republicans.
I cannot connect to the internet using my SMC 7004ABR router. It’s a small 4-port router that I’ve used many times in the past. What have I done? I’ve tried to reset the router numerous ways by holding down the little blue button. I’ve searched online through various forums for similar problems and tried their remedies to see if they would work. I’ve searched the SMC website for information. SMC only has a firmware update as well as other driver places I’ve searched. There is no reference to this problem in the manuel provided by SMC. I can ping the router however I cannot access the web interface nor the the internet (It times out). I have released and renewed the ip address. The router automatically gives me an address so I’ve set it as a static address. I’ve reset the computer, modem and router in various ways to see if there is an impact. The lights power up on the router and their seems to be activity however I cannot connect. I wanted to try as much as I could before posting here however it this point it is beyond me. Any suggestions? ??
