SATA On Asus A78NX Deluxe

OK, so maybe I’m being a bit think, but how do a get windows to access a single SATA drive that I’ve added to to an existing non SATA system? The system is otherwise working fine.

The Sil3112 Drivers are installed, and apparently working correctly (Although the instructions say that I should be able to choose a ‘device info’ tab in the device manager properties for the driver – I don’t see this)

The SATA Bios can see the drive, but windows doesn’t.

It’s not even listed in the ‘Disc Management’ part of the Administrative tools control panel.

I don’t want to format the disc, as the whole idea of plugging it in is to get some data off it. I suspect that I’ve missed something obvious!

Thanks in advance
