I have a brand new machine running NT4.0 SP6 and for some reason when the user logs into the PC it comes up with the “….one or more drivers failed to start….” routine. The log in Event Viewer says that: “The following boot-start or system-startdriver(s) failed to load: SMNT40” The source of the error says Service Control Manager. I have no idea what SMNT40 is/does. It doesn’t seem to be causing any problems so far, but I do need to get it fixed. I spoke to the tech that loaded NT and he doesn’t know what it is either. I have also searched Technet and some other tech sites but came up with nothing.
