Sony Memory Duo Stick troubleshooting

Hey Everyone, I have a Memory Stick Duo for a sony and everytime I connect it to the adaptor to plug into the the E drive slot for the memory in my computer it says “the disk in drive E cannot be formatted”. I formatted it with the digital camera I use and it still doesn’t work. Any ideas on how I can solve this issue?
