Sound Blaster Live

I re-installed windows 98 now when I re-installed the sound blaster live card and software I get sounds but it the beginning of the sound over and over for minutes. I called sound blaster tech support and they just told me to try a different slot so I did that and the same thing is happening. Please help I tried re-installed windows 98 4 times now.
