sound card

I have recently installed a new 80 gig, barracuda hard drive, and it won’t accept my sound card. I have tried looking up the individual driver for it, but I tried to install the driver and it didn’t even detect that I had a sound card installed. Iknow it is installed though, because it’s a built in card on the motherboard, and it worked with my last hard drive, but not my current one.
