SoundBlaster Live on Win2K

by captaintim . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

When I upgraded from Win98 to Win2kPro, the sound system worked fine. I was testing a CDRom Drive (defective) and somehow this corrupted the registry (I think) and the only way I could recover was to delete the profile. Before deleting the profile, I couldn’t even get windows started except in Safe Mode. I have since gotten everything working on a new profile excepting the sound card. Device Mgr says that it is working fine, but checking in Multimedia in Control Panel, there is no sound device. I have no sound at all. I have removed all of the sound card devices and game port etc., rebooted and reinstalled the drivers using the latest from Creative’s Web Site with no luck. It seems that the problem is outside of the profile that wasdeleted.
