Spool 32 errors

We have 3 or 4 Dell PC’s that are getting spool 32 errors. We use HP Printers. Have reinstalled print drivers and OS which is WIN 98SE. Same problem persists. The printers are direct comnected to the computers. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
