Spoolsv.exe errors in Windows 2000 Pro

by bprats . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Sorry, this post was posted in the discussion area by mistake.

Client PC:Windows 2000 Pro, SP2 on a Dell 8100 laptop with Nvidia video.

Print Server: Linksys ppsx-1 with HP DeskJet 960C. July 2001 New installation CD dated July 2001.

LAN server: Windows 2000 server SP2
Other PCs: Windows 98

I’m experiencing solid spoolsv.exe errors on the Dell 8100/Win2000 sp2 when I print to a HP DJ960 on a remote p-server. When the HP DJ960 is cabled lpt-1, I don’t get errors. The condition issomewhat described in Microsoft docs q260142. The error blanks all the printers in the printer setup and forces a reboot.

This same laptop prints fine to other p-servers/printers and likewise, other pcs print fine to the linksys/HPDJ960.

The Windows 2000 server SP2 server prints fine to the same p-server/HP DJ960.

Does anyone have experience with this problem??

One other person mentioned a similar problem with a Nvidia video card and another with a Dell 8100. Nvidia is the videocard in the Dell 8100.

Thanks ..
