Start Up Tab in msconfig utility

I have taken the check out of the box on some start up programs like microsoft office, and Findfast, etc. It tells me to restart which I do
and then I get the message that the computer is in diagnostic mode and to open up “msconfig” and
set it back to “normal mode”. When I do this and restart the programs that I disabled on start up are checked again. Is there any way to completely remove any of these programs from the start up tab?
