Starting up Windows

My name is John and i recently installed a DVD Burner onto my Desktop. When i reboot, the OEM shows then turns pitch black before the window’s Logo is supposed to show up. I took out the burner and restarted but i get the same problem…black screen. I tried F8 and safe mode, VGA mode, and Last known good configuration but it all turns black….anyone have any other suggestions?
