Sticky Hidden Partitiions!

by kahunanui . Updated 21 years, 5 months ago

I’ve been working with computers for over 10 years and haven’t yet run across anything like this. Got a system up running W2K & OSR-2 using System Commander 3.02 Deluxe as a Boot Manager. I’ve implemented as many as 12 OS’s using this version of SysCmdr but never ran across this. On drive 0, there are two (2) partitions that REFUSE to stay unhidden. No matter what, after a boot, they revert to hidden. We’ve used both SysCmdr and PowerQuest [Partition Magic & Drive Image] to unhide them, but they always revert. Haven’t a clue what hides them on rebooting! Basically the partitions are the System (C:\) and a data (D:\) partition…none of the other partitions [I’ve implemented separate partitions for the Paging file etc.] are effected.

It doesn’t seem to effect the system, however, since none of our other systems do this, we wanted to know what it could be. All hard drives are IDE with drive 0 = 80GB Western Digital 7200/8MB cache using a Promise Ultra100 card for interface (MB is SE440BX-2 without the support for UDMA).

Thanks in advance for any help on this!
