Stopping W2K from detecting Linux HDD

by larryny1 . Updated 23 years, 6 months ago

I have a dual boot PC which boots RedHat Linux 8.0 and Windows 2000 Pro. Both OSs work fine except the W2K system. It detects my Linux HDD and every time I try to remove it from Device Manager, Windows reboots. I have tried disabling it as well, it reboots as well.

How do I get W2K to “not” reconize this HDD on startup? reason being W2K now starts and shuts down very slow with some event errors.

I have tried removing the Linux HDD from my BIOS and then Windows boots and shuts down fine, so I’m sure that W2K detecting the Linux HDD is the problem.

HDD0= Drive C: W2K
HDD1= Drive D: Linux

Thanks,
Larry
