There is one website that our users must bring up occasionally that, on Windows 98/2000 machines, appears fine, but on Windows 95 machines, the resulting text appears as garbage characters. If you copy the text and paste it into ANY other document, it appears fine.
I’ve contacted the webmaster of the site and he says (not verbatim) “Windows 95? Of course you’re having problems. Upgrade!” I agree, I wish all workstations had at least Win98, but for those stragglers, we need to get this workable.
In viewing the html source for the page, I see a tag that says
I’ve done a search of Microsoft’s Knowledge base on Win95 and IE for “monospace”, but get no results. Is there a patch of some sort to allow MSIE (both 5 & 5.5) to view monospace characters?
