Streaming Audio

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help with a problem. We’ve now moved into a room that isn’t able to receive any form of FM radio reception, so can no longer listen to the IT Radio. We’ve come up with an idea of connecting the radio to a laptop running Windows98 via a audio cable and the line in socket. The only thing is that the laptop is in another building, on the LAN where it can receive a signal. Is there any ‘free’ software that would be able to allow us stream the line in audio from the laptop over the LAN to a Windows98/Linux PC? We’re not allowed to stream the signal off the net. The only over plan is to amplify the signal from somewhere high in the building.
