Ok here we go, I’m on a super old compter and I’ve been trying to add a new hard drive but everytime I try something different I get lost again. I origanally tried to partition and reformat the hd but when I tried to setup windows the computer wouldnt read the cd rom drive and I later found out that since the cd rom was connected to the sound card I had to setup the sound card first but even after doing that nothing happend ( grrr ). So then I decided to just try to let windows control the new hd as a slave, so I set the jumpers and hooked it up then started up the computer and it appears all seems good but then as soon as I tried to put anything on the new hd ( which has been partitioned and reformatted again ) I get a write error on a blue screen then I look in the computers properties to find out that theres a ms-dos compadability issue between my C: and D: drive. Im out of ideas please help.
