I finally got off my lazy butt and started putzen with vb.net express. I had played with vb 6 a couple years ago, but nothing serious. And only one home grown application for myself.
I’m looking for some reference books. No, I don’t remember squat from my previous play time. Yes, I really have no problem picking up new languages. Well, I use to not anyway.
I have no o.o. background other then what I’ve encountered in Perl. I have some basic understandings of it though(very basic).
Right now I’m trying to create a standalone password generator for my thumb drive. This should be simple enough. We will see. If I get it to work then I might try to incorporate it into the U3 drop down menu. I see that there is documentation on that. There is also some dll’s I want to develop to tie into some software that I use that you can create add ons for.
Sooooooooooooo, for us dumb rednecks. Any suggestions on books? I probably want to get at least 2. A general purpose how to, and then maybe a more in depth one for when I want to do more complicated things.
I don’t want to develop any web applications, at least not in the foreseeable future. I may wish to develop non form applications which will have the primary purpose of performing some task and then launching a form/notification box to let me know the status. I definitely see in my future remotely connecting to MYSQL with my eyes to the future possibly at work with Oracle.
