swap file setting in wind98se.

I have a system with celeron 1.1mhz,256mb ram, 80gb hard disk, working on windows 98se. Frequently I was getting resources low problem.

I had recently reinstalled 98se in a new hard disk and I tried to change the virtual memory settings. In spite of changing the setting, the new settings donot take place. Earlier I was able to do.

Will someone suggest how to avoid resetting of the virtual memory setting after setting to the new values. and also suggest the values I should put.

I have in memory the antivirus and popup killer programs as I used to have earlier when I didn’t face this problem.
