Switches- major brand or?

This is not an NT question, but I would appreciate any feedback from you Network Admins concerning switches. I am going to purchase an unmanaged 24 port 10/100 switch for our small network. Is it worth the extra $ to purchase big boy brands like Intel, Cisco or 3COM, or save the money and go with D_Link, Netgear, Asante etc?

The big boy brands are about 40% more, and sometimes I wonder if we are just paying for the name on comparable products. What do you think?
