SwitchTo Retry messages

We are running an application from a terminal server to sql server running 7.0 on W2k. The application is using com +. From time to time the users receive a dialog box with switchto/retry message. The performance on servers appears fine. NO one can figure out what is causing these messages and what they are suppossed to mean. Please help!
