Symantec Backup exec issue – .sis file not found

by professor-x . Updated 14 years, 10 months ago

One of our remote site backup keeps showing error after daily backup job. OS is Windows 2003 and Backup app is Symantec Backup Exec 12.

Error:
Backup- E: Data
File \00143782-2930-11d6-9bdf-00b0d03df4b3.sis was not found, or could not be accessed.
File \00143783-2930-11d6-9bdf-00b0d03df4b3.sis was not found, or could not be accessed.

Previously error was about “SIS Common Store” folder, so I have excluded that from 2 drives and ran defrag since then it’s showing above errors. From my understanding .sis files get created during backup process and then get removed as a part of process upon completion but somehow backup is trying to back up these files as well and those files are not there.

Troubleshooting:
Services restarted
Ran Backup without AOFO (Advance open file option)
Server rebooted
Tape drive has been changed on this server
unticked “SIS Common Store” folder on E: and C:
Created a new job
Ran Diskcleanup and Defrag

Any valuable input will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
