sys0318 message file not found

I am using a network boot disk for a 3com 10/100 NIC (3c574). It works fine on Dell Inspiron 4000 PCs. I tried the same boot disk on some Dell Inspiron 3500s and am getting the following error: “DOS error 53 occurred. SYS0318: Message file OSO001.msg cannot be found.” All references on the Web I can find point to this being an OS/2 error message but I do not have OS/2. Any help would be appreciated.
