system crash

my system crashed and I originally had win xp pro could not get it to boot with my disk I could only get it to boot with my win 98 disk so I reformated with win 98 and then put in xp I didnt choose to upgrade i did the full install my problem now is how do I get win 98 off my machine I cant find any uninstaller or command files but when I turn my machine on I gives me a choice to load the win xp or win 98 I only want win xp it kind of looks like they put them in 2 diff directorys please help
