system event error message

does anyone know what this means? i’m getting some weird behavior on my pc. when i start windows explorer it takes about 15 to 20 seconds before anything happens.
i found this within windows:

event log for source: event system
catagory: system event
event:4097
the com+event system detected a bad return codeduring its internal processing.hresult was 80080005 from line 39 of d:\n3\private\es\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. please contact microsoft product support services to report this error.
this fault is still there even after reinstalling windows.
any ideas anyone?
