System freezes

I have a system freeze while on the internet. No hardware problems or conflicts reported. Connection via modem. Everything seems to checkout. Uploaded IE 6.0 and the latest Norton pack. Still, the computer freezes while on the internet. (PII 350 MHz, 128MB SDRAM.) What’s the obvious?
