system hang during reset in W2K?

When I select Start/shutdown/reset my system
goes through the whole shutdown process, but does not restart. I didn’t make any changes, it just started happening ( famous last words ). I have to hit the reset button on my tower to get it to restart.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (running W2K Pro and it was working fine 2 days ago)
