System Hangs on Shutdown (Network VXD fi

I am having a problem with a system haning during shutdown. It hands at the “Windows is shutting down” screen. System is Win 98 SE.

Now I have trouble shooted the problem to it being the “Vnetsup.vxd” file. If I do a selective start up and notprocess this file or boot to safe mode the system will shut down (thus being that it didn’t load the network drivers).

I have tried uninstalling the network and reinstalling it and still the same problem. I also installed the Win 98 SE Patch.

Any ideas on how to work around this problem.
