I have windows 2000 on a single stand alone machine (don’t ask why!) but it is not networked. My problem is due to this. I want to create mandatory/roaming profiles which i can do, to some degree. But i want to be able to create group policies tomoderate users in those groups, however poledit only supports global groups. Is there any software (free) that supports local groups? or is there any way to fool my system into thinking i have a network thus letting me create global groups to use in poledit? Although i have a stand along machine, i do have about 15-25 different accounts which, adding 15-25 users to poledit is a tremendous task and time consuming. I also have with mandatory accounts, the problem that i dont know how to use theregistry to its fullest and some settings do get saved and thats not what i am wanting and due to this the policy settings are not applied to the accounts and they have full access. So i have local users and policy settings applied and mandatory users where the policy settings are ignored. If anyone could help, i would appreciate it. I dont exactly understand the point system here, so if i have under set this, let me know.
