System reboots w/ DV camcorder

AMD Athlon 650 Mhz system with 512 MB Ram Running Windows 98 SE originally, now running Windows XP Professional.
My system reboots itself when my Sony Digital camcorder is turned on when connected by firewire. System runs perfect otherwise. No other firewire devices in use.
