System restore Help Needed

Hi,
My DVD drive on my Laptop is messed up,
I need to restore my computer using the Restore DVD I got when I bought the Laptop.

Can I use an external USB DVD drive to restore my computer?
My Bios has an option to allow me to Boot by Removable drives, (Under which I have option for Legacy Floppy drive) I did not have an floppy drive on my Laptop.
