System.ini… corrupt? vmouse?

i just installed windowsME after reformating my computer, now after the instilation the first boot up wont complete. i get an error in DOS saying “a device file that is specified in the system.ini file is dammaged… VMOUSE” ive tried running windows install twice again. please please help. thanks. ^_^
