TCP/IP broken

Concerns a windows 98 system with a D-link dfe 530tx+ nic. Windows file sharing enabled, scanned with NAV-no virii found.
After installing Norton sysytem works 2002 I find that tcp/ip networking won’t work. NetBEUI, ipx/spx, work. I can browse the peer to peer network print to the print server. But can’t get on the internet.I have reinstalled Windows file sharing, the driver for the nic, tcp/ip networking all to no avail.
Any other suggestions?
